We are making some pieces over the winter for our Scraptorzoic Era sculpture trail in the summer. This is Anthony's Scraptoroid Creature photographed with a chicken in the kitchen garden of Paul and Rachel. We scattered some corn to get the chicken in place. We are rasing funds for that venture through crowdfunding. Click on http://www.indiegogo.com/Scraptorzoic-Era and see post below. Good perks for those who contribute from $5.
Please consider making a pledge and help us spread the message far and wide. Thanks in advance for anything you can do!

A giant waterbird for Magdalen
This is Anthony's giant Waterbird on his lawn. We we plan to float it on on one of the large ponds at the Magdalen Project in the summer when we plan to create the Scraptorzoic Era on its farm. Nearby will be a nest with weird chicks hatching out of eggs in a nest.. The five feet high neck is piping retrieved from outside a house in south London where a cannabis factory had been closed down. We are not called the Scraptors for nothing.

Scraptorzoids for a quarry, work in progress
We are planning a sculpture trail next summer in an old quarry in Somerset. We will create a whole new Geological Era with an ecosystem of fauna and flora. Rachel, Paul and Anthony spent a day creating eleven Scraptorzoids ready for a photoshoot. We are tying up the details but we hope to photograph them in their dramatic location on a scree of boulders at the bottom of a cliff in the quarry very shortly.

Trail to be installed in the summer of 2012 at Magdalen Project Dorset
The Scraptors are to install a sculpture trail in the summer of 2012 at the Magdalen Project near Chard on the Dorset /Somerset border. The Project is an environmental educational centre set in a 132 acre organic farm offering courses to adults and children, encouraging a deeper understanding of the countryside and encouraging a more sustainable approach to life. The site is a sculptor's dream with little wooded ravines and a series of ponds. We plan to have floating sculptures.. We will transform old machines and bits and pieces round the place into sculptures. The wheelbarrow below cries out to become a bird with the help of a grinder

Stourhead Sculpture Trail lives on
The Internet means that exhibitions live on after they have physically disappeared. Another file of wonderful images of our sculpture trail at Stourhead in September has appeared at Tonesshots the website of photographer Tony Parsons. Above is one of the Musicians in the Procession of Bacchus by Paul and Rachel (Anthony gave them the head). Below Fiona's Butterfly and Anthony's Egret. For more images go to Tone's website www.tonesshots.com/galleries/mostrecent/Stourhead%20Scraptors/

Owl Tree at Stourhead
Back at Stourhead installing stuff for the Beyond the Garden Gate sculpture trail to be in place throughout September. Paul painted an owl on the Owl Tree which has owl sculptures on it. The two little owls in the holes above Paul's painting are by Anthony made with recycled glass.. The flying owl in the lower image is a sculpture made from a recycled car fender by Anthony. In the distance it looks like a real bird to the confusion of twitchers.
One of the themes of the trail is the legends of Ancient Greece and Rome which inspired the Hoares, creators of the iconic landscape garden. The owl was revered as a symbol of wisdom in Ancient Greece.

The Scraptors' Horse at Stourhead
This is the lifesized Horse made by Paul and Rachel from all sorts of old scrap, such as bedsprings, arriving at Stourhead the National Trust property in Wiltshire for the Scraptors' Sculpture Trail Beyond the Garden Gate to be in place in the woods there throughout September. The horsebox was painted by Paul for a neighbour. Paul has created murals for clients in Shanghgai and Helsinki as well as nearer places like Bristol and London.
