IndieGoGo pledge - plea for materials

We are in the final stages of preparing our film and presentation for our IndieGoGo pledge.  An international crowd-funding site, IndieGoGo will hopefully help us finance our exciting new project - a Scraptorzoic Era at the Magdalen Project, an eco farm and charity-run education centre straddling Somerset/Dorset.

We will provide perks for donations.  Perks range from limited edition Scraptor prints on hand made paper donated by Wookey Hole (see drawing above), exclusive to the Magdalen project; a weekend in a Yurt at the Magdalen Project for 8 people and a one-off Scraptors’ Sculpture. The most generous donors can have a link to their website as well as other benefits.  


As we like to recycle, if anyone has clean thin cardboard tubing (eg from Christmas wrapping) or thin flat card we have a good use for it!  Other materials such as scrap steel tools, wire/old wire sieves, copper, tin, rope/old football goal netting (no plastic) etc would also be much appreciated.  Contact our email: scraptors@hotmail.co.uk

A giant waterbird for Magdalen

This is Anthony's giant Waterbird on his lawn. We we plan to float it on on one of the large ponds at the Magdalen Project in the summer when we plan to create the Scraptorzoic Era on its farm. Nearby will be a nest with weird chicks hatching out of eggs in a nest.. The five feet high neck is piping retrieved from outside a house in south London where a cannabis factory had been closed down. We are not called the Scraptors for nothing.

 Above and below we placed a Tribe of Humanoids in a wooded ravine in the farm of the Magdalen Project for a photo shoot. In the summer we will be creating the fauna and flora of the Scaptorzoioc Era on the farm. The heads of  the Humanoids were hoppers for lawn mowers

Donation of paints

Ridgeways, Shepton Mallet has very kindly donated a truck load of old or recycled usable car paint to Fiona for our sculptures. Much appreciated, as we plan to create a series of colourful pieces for our next Trail at the Magdalen Project.

Trail plans

Our Quarry Trail has been postponed for a later date so we are now gearing up for a Sculpture Trail at the Magdalen Project on the Somerset/Dorset borders, which will take place sooner than originally planned. Set in this idyllic farm with lakes, a river and wooded ravines will be our creation of the Scraptorzoic Era - a fantasy fusion of Jurassic and a new Eden, involving floating sculptures and other surprises.  We hope to gain funding through Indiegogo to enable the Trail to go ahead.  More news as it develops… below is some work in progress by Fiona.

Scraptorzoids for a quarry, work in progress

 We are planning a sculpture trail next summer in an old quarry in Somerset. We will create a whole new Geological Era with an ecosystem of fauna and flora. Rachel, Paul and Anthony spent a day creating eleven Scraptorzoids ready for a photoshoot. We are tying up the details but we hope to photograph them in their dramatic location on a scree of boulders at the bottom of a cliff in the quarry  very shortly.

The Owl Tree at Stourhead Sculpture Trail Lives on

Our sculpture trail lives on through the Internet ; the Rex Press Agency has images of our owl tree. Paul's painted owl is still there but the organic paint will fade.
