Projects with schools

The Scraptors welcome projects with schools. We have run workshops. We have created sculptures following the winning designs made by schools pupils. Below is a workshop we held at Three Ways School in Bath in 2017 and further below are some of the sculptures that emerged.

Below are images of the sculptures made following a competition run by Bournemouth Recycling Department in local primary schools in 2015 to encourage recycling. Recycled material were to be used. The children submitted drawings with ideas for sculptures that reflected recycling and the sea. Further below are two of the winning drawings on which we based the sculptures. The sculptures  were exhibited in Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre.

In 2013 we had a commission from Sustrans the charity which advocates sustainable transport. They organized a competition to publicize a new cycle route from the north to the south of Devon from Ilfracombe to Plymouth. Primary school children in Torbay were invited to draw designs for bicycles, the winning one to be turned into a sculpture, They were encouraged  to be wacky. We chose the wackiest and placed it in a display case.
