All Hallows visit our Trail (now open 'til 3rd Oct pm) in the sunshine
Fiona went to Stourhead today to meet a large group of All Hallows Prep School Yr 8 students who were visiting our Scraptors' Sculpture Trail. We are taking it down from next Tuesday 4th October - a slight extension to the 30th September end date - and it was one of the last chances to take pictures of our work there. Everything glowed in the sunshine and Stourhead looked staggeringly beautiful. The children explored the Trail with great enthusiasm and our Children's Quiz sheets seemed to help. As they were studying metals in Science, learning about sustainability, studying mythology in Latin and some doing Surrealism/metamorphosis with Fiona in extra-curricular Art, the Trail provided plenty of relevant cross-curricular themes.

Sketches of the Sculptures
Paul made these drawings (above) of some of the sculptures on the trail. Drawn on Wookey Hole paper they were for sale at the private view and most of them sold. Below are a few of Fiona's drawings which were the basis for some of her sculptures on the Trail.

Children's Quiz for Stourhead Sculpture Trail
We created a Children's Quiz for the Stourhead Sculpture Trail (1-30 Sept), as the Trail is particularly suitable for children. Copies of the Quiz are available at Stourhead on request, but below is a copy. The quiz needs to be used in conjunction with our Scraptors leaflet - also available at Stourhead - as some of the answers can be found within our List of Work (also below):

Work in Progress at Stourhead
Below, the Scraptors in full waders to avoid more wet, silty experiences. Amphibian goes into the far lake (Rachel and Paul), Fiona adds weight to her Heron and her Chameleon gets installed on it's resting place - an old dead, mossy, fallen tree overlooking the lake, with the help of NT helpers, Fiona's son and Jack (vjultra), our in-house photographer.

Scraptor Horse travels from Horseworld near Bristol to Stourhead
Paul, Rachel and Anthony went to Horseworld, the horse sanctuary near Bristol to collect the horse by Paul and Rachel that has been there since 2009. It will feature in the Scraptors Sculpture Trail as Stourhead, the National Trust gardens in Wiltshire throughout September. Above, Rachel holds the Horse in place on the lifting gear at Horseworld. Below in its horsebox (decorated by Paul in 2009) on its way through Radstock, its arrival outside Stourhead House and its final position in the woods at Stourhead, with 3 Scraptors and NT helpers.
