Hatching Scraptoroids for Magdalen Project Dorset

We will be installing sculptures of the Scraptoroid Era at the Magdalen Project Dorset early in March. There will be Scraptoroid creatures emerging from spawn and eggs. The eggs and spawn are about the size of beach balls. These are some drawings which show the concept. There will be some creatures by the Scraptors and some made in a workshop at the Gryphon School, Sherborne.

This is our cyclops cat. The head was the hopper of lawn mower. It will be one of two tribal groups in our Scaptrozoic Era at the Magdalen Project oganic farm in Dorset.

Going ahead with our scultpure trail at the  Magdalen Project in Dorset. We did not get full funding  but we did get some through crowd funding  and a great deal of donations of materials. So we are going to install a scaled down version of our Scraptorzoic Era - an imaginary geological era.

We had planned some fifteen feet high monsters using car bonnets of the iconic cars of the last century - the Volkswagen Beetle the Austin Mini and the Citroen Deux Chevaux. We have acquired the bonnets and other car bits but we will have to drop that part of it.

But we are going to install a couple of tribal groups of humanoids and vegetation and creatures of the Scraptorzoic Era,.

Anthony has made and Paul sprayed painted these three humanoids. The heads are recycled  vacuum cleaner heads. Anthony has delivered to Paul some more vacuum cleaner heads for him  to make a few more humanoids.

We will be putiing more pieces on  this blog as we make them over February  and then install them in March.

Vacuum cleaner head

We scavenge where we can. This is a vacuum cleaner head in Anthony's workshop. Very anthropomorphic.

Scavenging for stuff

We are always scavenging for stuff . We thought of calling ourselves the Scavengers but the name had been taken by a pop group. These are two car bits. The one above had been dumped in a quarry and the  one below by the side of the road. Useful for our projected Scraptorzoic Era.

We plan to convert this into a sculpture if we get funding for out project at Magdalen the eco educational centre based on a farm in Dorset near Crewkerne  - the Somerset border passes through its fields.
